Gingerbread Party

Here is a layout I did for our Gingerbread House Party.

Journaling says:

This years
Gingerbread House Party
had our largest turnout yet.  We had
so many entries, It was a lot of fun.  But
with more people it made it so I didn’t get
a chance to do one.  Most of our friends,
family, and neighbors came.
Fun times were had
by all!

Where did Xander go?

I finished this scrapbook page.  This picture is one of my FAVORITE of Xander.  I think it TOTALLY captures the essence of his favorite things to do, and it is an actual smile, not a "CHEEESE".

Journaling says:

I was trying to get something done on my computer, when the house got really quiet.  And any mom knows, that is not a good sign.  I went searching for you, and I couldn’t find you anywhere.  Until I heard a laugh from your room.  And here you were, under your bed, playing the DS.

Thanksgiving 2008

Here is the layout I did for our Thanksgiving adventures in St. George.

Journaling says:

For Thanksgiving we went to St. George to celebrate Grandpa Nathan Riley Plumb’s 80th birthday. Once again ALL of Jared’s family was able to be there. So we did our family gift exchange at the same time, as well as another big family picture. We were able to share a hotel with Ang and Ryan. Xander LOVED having his cousins to play with. And the pool. He thought it was the best. It was a fun weekend. Happy Birthday Grandpa Plumb!!! We also found out that dear Bradley and his girlfriend are expecting their first child. (She is 16). We wish them the best of luck.

The Spears

I am back from my scrapping hiatus.  Here is the latest layout.  It is one from right before Thanksgiving when the Spears came and stayed.

Journaling Says:

Our cousins came to visit us on their way to St. George for Thanksgiving.
We had fun reading “The Night Before Thanksgiving”, playing in the castle,
and car pooling to St. George.  They sure are fun.  We are so lucky to have
them around.  Kathleen and I were even able to get a toothless photo.

Credits are listed in my scrapbook gallery.  For a complete list of items used click the link posted on the right.

Impromptu Party

Pictures from our Impromptu Party

Journaling Says:

Leisa called at 4 pm
to see if we were doing
anything.  By 6 pm we had
a full blown family party.
Mom and Dad, Lu and Wally,
Chatzy, and Crystal all came.
We had delicious Cafe’ Rio Pork.
We played games, visited and
had a great time together.
I love having these impromptu
parties.  We should have more!

Halloween 2008

Picture from Halloween 2008:

Journaling Says:

i asked you what you wanted to be, you said
“Choo-choo Train”.  So i put together some boxes
and covered them in butcher paper and made
you the cutest little choo-choo train this side of
the Mississippi.

Mom was a toothless hill-billy.  With only one year
when I could have it be authentic, I figured I better
go for it.

Our "Friendly" BBQ

A 2-pager from when we had a BBQ for Emilys "Friend" Spencer.

Journaling Says:

Emily had one of her "friends"
from D.C. coming through town.
Since we are ALWAYS up for a
reason to get together, we thought
it would be fun to have a BBQ
where we got to meet this guy.
Emily as insistent, and even a bit
paranoid, that having a BBQ on his
honor would give him the wrong
idea.  So we called it a "friendly" BBQ.
But we all knew the reason
we got together was to scope
Spencer out.

Mothers Weekend

Pictures from when we went to Rexburg for my Reunion and Mothers Weekend.  It is a two page spread.  Here is the full layout:

Here is Page 1:

Page 1 Journaling has been changed to say:
I had received an invitation to attend a reunion for the AWS Class
Officers (Associated Womens Students) of Ricks College (now BYU-I).
It was scheduled in conjuction with Mother’s Weekend.  So Jared’s
Mom was in town also.

We met at Alyssa’s apartment and played before my reunion.
It was fun to see Lys on her own.  Grandma Lisa and Ashley got there
shortly after we did.

On Saturday we all got together and went to Outback and the mall.

Here is Page 2 layout:
Page 2 Journaling Says:
Xander and Alyssa share a birthday,
because of this I think they share a
very special bond.

We also brought Grandma her
“Apples to Apples Crown”.
She had left it at our house at
Thanksgiving.  Xander was very
intent wearing it into the house.

And

Grandma also brought Xander some fun
toys from his birthday.  He got a Lightning
McQueen coloring set, and from his
Grandpa he got a set of cars.  Xander
still takes his helicopter to bed with him.
What perfect gifts.   Thanks Alyssa for letting
us come and  join your Mothers Weekend.

First Snow of the Season

Pictures from the first snow of the season:

Journaling Says:

We knew that it was supposed
to snow, but when we woke up
with 4 inches, we were shocked.
All you wanted to do was build
a snowman.  Since it snowed so
early this year we were able to
use fresh flowers on the face,
arms, buttons, and
for the hair.  It
turned out
perfect.

We all went to the zoo, and you had
sooo much fun!  We rode the train,
and saw the ainmals.  It was fun to
go with our cousins.  You loved having
friends your age to see things with.
It completely changed your perspective.

Journaling Says:

Coles baby blessing:

    * Friends

    * Food

    * Fun

Turns out to be a perfect

day with the perfect baby!

My Blanket Corner

Layout I made of Xander and his favorite "corner"

Journaling Says:

When you were about 6 months old you found one corner on your little blanket that had a frayed string.  You were able to grab that string and pull it to your face.  You would rub that string under your nose, in your ear and on your face.  This became your “self-soothing” tool.
When you were about 1 you chewed all of your corners to have stray threads for you to tickle your face with.  You couldn’t go to sleep without your “corner” to soothe you.
Now here you are, almost 3 years old, and you still search for your favorite little thread.  What will we ever do when it wears out?
